From 1st Aviation University in Amethi to 1st Railway University in Vadodara: India advances towards skill training programs

Existing and famous real estate leader Jayraj Builders, can facilitate the infrastructure development in Vadodara— Smart City tag is not far away.

The inauguration of India’s 1st aviation university in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh last year, led to a demand for the first railway university in India. With the recent announcement for the country’s first railway university in Vadodara, the requirements seem to have been met as it not only would train and nurture the youth to become a part of India’s largest employer i.e. Indian Railways, but would also boost urbanization and infrastructure development in India’s cultural hub. In this backdrop, the Gujarat government has also announced allotment of 31 hectares of land in the district at concessional rate.

As per Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, the decision to allot the land for a permanent campus comes right after a Cabinet meeting, chaired by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. According to Patel, the land allotted for the railway university will be utilized for construction of academic buildings, a hostel as well as a training center. The railway university opened its doors to the first batch of 103 students last year.
Currently offering two courses— BBA in transportation management and BSc in transportation technology, the transport related education and training is designed to create a resource pool of best-in-class professional for the railway and transportation sector. With education at its core, the other sector or area that is likely to benefit from this recent announcement is the existing real estate and upcoming projects in Vadodara.

A leading real estate developer, Jayraj Builders, who have already proven their mettle in the field with their years of experience can leverage the existing opportunity, by providing spacious and comfortable living space near the vicinity of the campus, encouraging healthy tourism in Vadodara as well. “Real estate sector in the last few years has seen lots of ups and downs, but experience teaches you a lot. There is a lot of scope for tourism in Vadodara and we shall complement it with creatively designed structures in the coming years,” said Jayesh Dave, Managing Director of Jayraj Builders.

That said, Railway University incorporates 21st century skills including communication, critical thinking, and collaboration— an opportunity for project-based learning at railway establishments. With such standards in the institute and real estate projects in place, the future looks bright for Vadodara—  a precursor to Smart City, Government’s ambitious project.
