Bhupinder Nath Kirpal (B. N. Kirpal), 31st Chief Justice of India

Born in 1937 at Lahore and later shifter to Delhi, Bhupinder Nath Kirpal is a B.A. (Hons.), LL.B. After his schooling from Modern School, Barakhamba, he was enrolled in St Stephens College of Delhi University. Additionally, Kirpal is a sports enthusiast as well. As a top cricketer, he represented both his school and college. Kirpal started his journey as an advocate in 1962 and in 1979, he was appointed as a judge at the Delhi High Court. He has also served as a Central Government Pleader in Delhi High Court, Standing Counsel for the Income Tax Department and Central Government Standing Counsel since 1975. In the year 1993, he was appointed as the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court. Later in 1995, he took oath as the 31st Chief Justice of India. After his retirement in 2002, he was positioned as the President of the Indian Forest Commission.
