Gautam Gambhir, Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha and a leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party

A Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha and a leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party, Gautam Gambhir is a well-known former cricketer who is also an alumnus of Modern SchoolBarakhamba Road, New Delhi, and a graduate of Hindu College. He also served as the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gambhir is the only India cricketer who scored a century consecutively five times in test matches. He was also honoured with the Padma Shri award last year. Apart from this, Gautam has also been conferred with the Arjuna Award, India’s second highest sporting award by the President of India in 2008. In 2009, he was recognized as the ICC Test Player of the Year. However, in 2018, he declared to retire from all forms of cricket. During the IPL season of 2011, he was the highest paid cricketer in the history of IPL that fetched him a big amount of 2.4 million dollars.
