About

Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College is an offshoot of the Bishop Cotton Girls’ School and carries with it a rich tradition of more than 150 years of experience in imparting education. Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College was established in 1985 by the Karnataka Central Diocese, Church of South India with a mission to serve the educational needs of women in our society.

While the College is open to students from different communities, nationalities and economic status, its commitment is in accordance to the avowed intentions of the founders i.e. education and upliftment of the Christian community.

Library

The library has a well balanced number of books and journals besides leading newspapers. The reference collection is enhanced regularly and an exclusive book bank for students belonging to SC/ST category is provided as measure to help them pursue their educational interests.

Free internet,Wi-Fi is provided to staff and the students.A xerox machine and scanner is also available.

Hostel

Facilities:  Hostel with a capacity of 90 girls on 2,3,4, sharing basis under the care of an in house warden is available.  The hostel has recreational facilities, sports & games (Indoor & outdoor) facilities,health & hygiene care.

Sports & Recreation

Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College concentrates not only on academic subjects but on producing well-rounded individuals. Sports plays a prominent part in the life of the college. It provides a range of sporting activities –

Volley Ball , Throw Ball ,Basket Ball ,Cricket ,Foot Ball ,Tennis , shuttle cork , Gymnasium and athletics .

Placement

The placement cell of the college was started in 2005. Campus recruitment is organized every year where a number of companies come in search of prospective candidates and select  the students by way of written test, aptitude test, interview etc.

Council Center

In house full time Counselor addresses the emotional needs , peer pressure and stress of the students. The counselor also addresses grievance issues and also manages the help desk to address many issues like parental pressure, academic pressure, personal problems, relationship problems, depression, shortage of attendance, misconduct, enquiries, inter-personal problems and other issues.
