DanielHimachal CM Jai Ram Thakur, on 3rd February, visited the construction site of Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College at Hamirpur, to monitor the ongoing process.
Supposedly, the college will be built by August. This 250-bedded medical college and hospital are one of the three colleges that are currently under construction, according to the CM. The other two are in Nahan and Chamba, where they are scheduled for completion by September this year. The CM has directed the concerned authorities for the time-bound completion of the projects.
He inaugurated the Histopathology Lab in the Department of Pathology in Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College Hamirpur established for Rs. 84.20 lacs and a Bio-Chemistry Analyzer for the Department of Bio-Chemistry at a cost of about Rs.15 lacs. Biochemistry tests of Covid patients will be done in this facility. Thakur also inaugurated Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre in the Medical College under the National Health Mission for treatment and rehabilitation of malnourished children.
Vice-Chairman HRTC Vijay Agnihotri, Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur Debasweta Banik, Superintendent of Police Akriti Sharma, Principal Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College Dr. Suman Yadav, and other senior officers were present during the inauguration.
Thakur also met the union minister Mansukh Mandaviya in Delhi and has asked for an increase in the funds for the construction of these colleges, so that timely completion is ensured. Currently, the state has 6 government colleges and one private medical college. Apart from this, the state will also get an AIIMS campus by the Prime Minister in June this year. This will help in providing world-class medical facilities to the people.
A two-day visit was done by Thakur in Kangra where he presided over meetings with BJP officials of Indora, Bhatiyat, and Shahpur assembly segment under the party’s Mandal Milan program at Dharamsala. He emphasized the effective implication of various government policies so that the local people can exploit full benefits.
