About
The Lady Hardinge Medical College for women was founded in 1914 to commemorate the visit of Her Majesty Queen Mary in 1911-12. The college and hospital was formally opened by Lord Hardinge the then Viceroy of India on 17th February 1916. Lady Hardinge Medical College’s mission is :
- To provide state of the art Medical Education & Training
- To provide tertiary level health care facilities
- To conduct research on important medical & public health issues
- To support national Health policy & Programmes
Lady Hardinge Medical College’s objective is to improve & sustain high standards of teaching & training activities for under graduate & post graduate Medical & nursing courses.

Campus
The college’s campus has a hostel, library, auditorium and laboratories. It also includes a ground for sports and extra co-curricular activities.
Library
A new central library building is part of the auditorium building. The college’s library is one of the oldest medical libraries in India and has also a good collection of number of old journals in the biomedical sciences.
Comprehensive Redevelopment Plan
In order to augment college and hospital services, Directorate General of Health Services and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved a Comprehensive redevelopment Plan for the LHMC and Associated Hospitals.
Admissions
