Lady Shri Ram College for Women, has long been recognized as a premier institution of higher learning for women in India. Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR) is a constituent women’s college of the University of Delhi for Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce. It is an arts and commerce college, and it has been ranked 1 in Arts and Education, 2 in Commerce and 3 in Mass Communication

The college is located in a beautiful 15 acre campus in South Delhi, has approximately 2000 students, over 150 faculty, administrative and support staff and 16 courses of study. The College became a byword for academic and extra curricular achievement. TARANG, is the annual cultural festival of Lady Shri Ram College. Held every year it is one of the most eagerly awaited festivals of Delhi University. Dedicated to the celebration of creativity, it is a stimulating event brimming with youthful dynamism. TARANG is known for bringing together the best student talent from across the country in fields of music, dance, dramatics, debating, fine arts, quiz, films, photography and other areas of art and culture.

LSR’s infrastructure includes a newly refurbished, computerized user-friendly library with internet access, 1200 books, 50 online journals and 12798 in-house journals and periodicals.Its Board of Governors is chaired by industrialist and philanthropist Bharat Ram. The new principal of the college is Suman Sharma.Within the constraints of prescribed syllabi, LSR attempts to offer an eclectic selection, a range of options for students. The future of the knowledge society of this century depends, among other strengths, upon the rigour of a strong Social Sciences and Humanities orientation.
