About
VJTI Mumbai has pioneered India’s Engineering and Technology education, research and training since 1887 as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute. Pre-independence, VJTI had been instrumental in driving Industry 2.0 throughout united India. Post-independence, VJTI played a pivotal role in setting up IITs and RECs of India and strengthened engineering and technology excellence of country.
The Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute was given its present title on January 26, 1997. Founded in 1887, it was then known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute. The institute is reputed for excellent training in courses in engineering and technology at diploma and, degree and post graduate levels over three thousand students. Over twenty seven courses are offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, postgraduate diploma and post diploma levels.

Library
This is the resource for Students / Faculty / Staff . This is where you first come for information and research. The library is a place for Individual Study. Readers are requested to cooperate and keep the LIBRARY a QUIET AND PEACEFUL place. SILENCE is essential.
The VJTI Library is the key resource for the information that you will need during your studies. Library staff are ready to help and advise you from the day you arrive to the day you come to write your project and dissertation work and prepare for your future career.
Hostel
The institutes’ Hostels, which offer accommodation for a total of 554 students are located at the southern end of the campus. They comprise four blocks A, B, C, and D. Accommodation is given to 110 new students in all branches every year on the basis of merit-cum-need. Preference is given to students residing outside the city of Mumbai.
Hostel accommodation is available for students enrolled for each full time course. All attempts are made to provide hostel accommodation to as many students as possible. However, it is not possible to provide hostel accommodations to all the applicants.
Women’s Development Cell
Women’s Cell as under Constituted to look after women, students, faculty and staff and also to address complaints where women are victims.
